More about the worksheets above

Recommended Order

The times tables worksheets above are for the numbers 1-12. Of course, there is no perfect order to teach the times tables. Lots of different experts put in a good argument for slightly varying approaches.

That said, most agree that 1, 2, 5, and 10 become before any other numbers. Likewise most agree that 3 and 4 come before 9, 6, 7, and 8 for example. Some prefer to teach 8 before 6, 9, and 7 and some do it after.

Bearing in the mind the basic idea at play here... that certain mental math skills make certain other ones easier... maybe it's a good idea to be flexible and pay close attention to how each child is getting on, allowing for helping adjustments.

Variety of worksheets

When you go through to the page on each times table, you'll find lots of varieties of worksheets to practice multiplying by 1-12... color by number, multiple choice, writing numbers in a sequence, lists of times table questions, and more...

In total there are 9 worksheets for each times table and most are available in black and white for those who want to save ink and maybe do some coloring as well.

Whether you want to test yourself on your multiplication facts or work through times tables problems at your own pace, you'll find printables for 1 times table, 2 times table, 3 times table, 4 times table... up to 12 times table.
